Police seized and burned 776 plants and confiscated over 1 kg of harvested crop. Deputy district police chief Hiem Srim said police had been tracking the suspect for years before catching him red-handed. In January 2020 alone, Kirivong district police destroyed more than 10,000 plants across 24 plantations. Provincial anti-drug bureau director Mak Serey Vathana said officers are questioning the accused to identify brokers and the wider illegal network, stating "without brokers, the suspect would not take the risk."
