Ban Nan Toeng 'Elite' Selection #3 2024 is a selected landrace accession documented in Thailand by Eloise and Isabella. Seeds were sourced from the Nan Toeng Village Community in Ban Nan Toeng, within the Phu Phan Mountains of Sakhon Nakhon Province. This accession represents a single-plant selection from the Lao-Isan landrace population maintained through traditional open-pollination.
Geography
This accession originates from the Phu Phan Mountains in Sakhon Nakhon Province, within Isan, Thailand. Ban Nan Toeng lies along the edge of the Kut Bak plateau at 200 m elevation under a monsoonal cultivation cycle.
Collection Details
Collected in 2024 from a single high-yielding female plant identified for structural mass and resin production. Seeds were produced via direct seeding and traditional open-pollination.
This accession forms part of the Elite selection series focused on isolating structurally and aromatically distinctive plants within the Nan Toeng landrace.
Botanical Characteristics
Plants display tall, narrow-leaf Southeast Asian morphology with long internodal spacing and upright apical dominance, reaching 2–3 meters in height. Flowering occurs under short-day conditions.
This elite plant expressed a heavier-bodied Tiger Tail type structure with increased floral density and resin coverage. Flower Structure is Thick.
The terpene expression includes earthy spice, herbal musk, woody undertones, and ripe tropical fruit notes including mango. Effects are described as clear, stimulating, and long-lasting.
