Large scale ganja farm raided in Yala

A joint four-day operation by the Sri Lanka Army and Matara Crime Division police, acting on Army Intelligence information, raided a five-acre cannabis farm in the Pilimagala, Mahaaru area of the Yala Reserve, approximately ten miles from the Buttala–Kataragama road. The plants were approximately six feet tall and ready for harvest. One suspect was arrested and a locally manufactured firearm was seized.
