Current Status Panel
The conservation status panel shows our progress documenting landrace varieties. As we add more strain profiles, these numbers will update automatically:
- **Documented strains**: Updated as new strain pages are created
- **Field expedition reports**: Updated when expedition documentation is added
- **Conservation status tracking**: Visual representation of preservation urgency
Discussion: Should we add additional metrics like "Active contributors" or "Recent expeditions"?
Featured Content Rotation
We should establish a system for rotating featured content to highlight:
- **Seasonal relevance** (e.g., harvest season strains during autumn)
- **Regional focus** (rotating through Southeast Asia, South Asia, etc.)
- **Conservation urgency** (highlighting endangered varieties)
- **Recent expeditions** (showcasing latest field research)
Navigation Improvements
Current main sections work well, but we should consider:
- **Browse Strains** section needs the most attention - this is where users will spend most time
- **Theory** section should link to practical growing applications
- **Current Research** needs regular updates with expedition reports

Mobile Responsiveness
The current design is mobile-friendly, but we should test:
- Status bar readability on small screens
- KPI panel layout on phones
- Action button accessibility
