When to use
Use {{Citation_needed}} when a claim is specific (dates, quantities, locations, legal assertions, attribution) and not supported by an inline reference.
When not to use
Don’t tag obvious background statements or general context. Either add a source or rewrite the sentence to remove precision.
How to use
Add it immediately after the claim:
Police destroyed 3,365 plants in Takeo province.{{Citation_needed|reason=Needs a source confirming plant count and date.}}
If you can, prefer adding a real <ref>...</ref> instead of tagging.
Tracking
Pages that include the template are automatically added to Category:Pages needing citations.
