Police raided four locations in Preah Bat Choan Chum commune, Kirivong district, along the Vietnamese border, destroying 22,418 marijuana plants. Growers fled before police arrived. Kirivong district police chief Lieutenant Colonel Yuk Sarath confirmed the plants were cut and burned on site. The operation was part of a six-month national anti-drug campaign launched January 1, 2017. In January alone, 2,428 people were arrested in nearly 1,000 drug cases nationally.
